The nexus of manufacturing and employability (Advert Reference: SF18/MCE/SHYHA)

The employability plays a crucial role in society’s welfare today. Several factors affect employability rates including the industrial development level of the country, investment security, technology awareness and automation of the manufacturing systems. For instance, the developing countries seem to have a rise in the employability levels due to opening new markets and increased investments. In contrast, more developed countries seem to have a decline in the employability levels that possibly due to the traditional hypothetic that automation cuts down jobs. Could the advances in manufacturing contribute to achieve zero unemployment rate? This project aims to assess the nexus of manufacturing and employability then address the challenges facing countries that have low employability levels and how manufacturing can contribute to minimise this level. The research will also discuss the constraints and barriers to boost employability levels. The research encompasses a comparative study between UK and other countries depending on candidate’s choice or ability to obtain/collect data.

Please note eligibility requirement:

* Academic excellence of the proposed student i.e. 2:1 (or equivalent GPA from non-UK universities [preference for 1st class honours]); or a Masters (preference for Merit or above); or APEL evidence of substantial practitioner achievement.
* Appropriate IELTS score, if required
