About the Project

Our group uses catalysis to enable the rapid assemble of molecular complexity in an efficient manner to access interesting target structures. This project involves the development and application of novel strategies and transformations for the synthesis of natural product-like scaffolds. The goal is to access the core functionalised structure of bioactive compounds in a short manner from simple readily accessed precursors using novel catalysis-based complexity inducing and cascade processes. Core structures will then be taken on to complete natural product synthesis, and/or in the preparation of families of non-natural analogues for structure-activity studies against a variety of disease targets.
