About the Project

The system level integration in Energy Management Systems (EMS) are usually aided by communication system. The role of communication system is to facilitate exchange of messages to trigger or subdue device behaviours. Most EMS currently rely on wireless technologies, however, since power line is already available in most homes, it is desirable to have wireless and Power Line Communication (PLC) complement each other. Within this context, this project aims at investigating a powerline-wireless hybrid communication system for EMS in homes.
