About the Project

Objectives
•To assess protein stability and degradation in herpesvirus infected cells
•Protein-protein interactions between viral and cellular proteins

Expected achievements
•Understanding Impact of herpes virus infection on the cellular proteome.
•Identify proteins that are regulated in activity during herpesvirus infection.
•Identification of pathways that are affected by herpesvirus infection.

Planned Secondments
•Aarhus University, Denmark; Proteomic assessment of herpesvirus infections in vivo
•Janssen/Crucell, The Netherlands: Technological advancement of AP-MS procedure

Requirements
•Solid theoretical background in virology and biochemistry
•Interest to learn a wide spectrum of methodologies
•Curiosity in complex cellular processes

Appointment details

Based on a full-time appointment, the duration of the appointment as a Marie Curie ITN fellow will be for a maximum period of 3 years.


Manadatory Eligibility Criteria
Mobililty Rule
The researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of his/her host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account.
Career Stage
Early stage researcher shall at the time of recruitment be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.

Funding Notes

Benefits
Monthly gross salary will be in accordance with the EC Marie Sklodowska Curie rates and will be paid by the host organization. The salary may be subjected to tax according to applicable national regulations. The positions are full-time and designed for a duration of 36 months.

Prospective date for start of project: Sep 1, 2016
The ESR cannot start before the project and candidate have been approved of the local PhD school as well as an approved residence and work permit (where applicable).
The ESR will be employed/enrolled locally in either Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, or Italy.
