About the Project

Start Date: 9th January
Eligibility: UK/EU
Duration of award: 1 year

This studentship will provide a bursary of £18,000. (tax free) plus fees* for one year.

The Cranfield Water Science Institute, in collaboration with a major UK water company in the South East of England, has an applied MSc by Research studentship opportunity for motivated graduates to evaluate treatment of groundwater.

We are seeking a post-graduate student with an Engineering background and a knowledge and understanding of water treatment technologies. The project will be carried out alongside a UK Water Company and will involve practical investigation of treatment technologies to assess suitability, performance and operability of different treatment systems.

Novel raw water contamination, as a result of a major construction project, is driving the need for the research to understand the treatability of these waters. We require a self-motivated individual with a drive to work independently and a professional attitude plus an ability to think and work in an applied way alongside a team is essential.

Entry requirements:
Applicants should have a first or upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent in a related discipline such as Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering. The successful candidates should be self-motivated, have good communication skills for regular interaction with the project stakeholders and a strong interest in delivering applied industrial research. The capability to work closely with others is essential and the ability to drive is an advantage.
