About the Project

Supervisors: Dr Paul Kay (Uni Leeds), Dr Chris Sinclair (Fera Science Ltd)
Contact email: [Email Address Removed]
The presence of emerging pollutants, including veterinary medicines, in the environment has been investigated since the late 1990’s (Halling-Sorensen et al., 1998) although we still know very little about their environmental fate (Grant et al., 2012; Slana and Sollner Dollenc, 2013; Jechalke et al., 2014). This is important as they must be assessed for environmental risk and appropriate measures put in place to mitigate against suspected negative environmental impacts.
The central hypothesis that this project will test is that with an improved understanding of the fate of emerging contaminants on farms we can mitigate environmental impacts by adopting the use of particular management options. This will be investigated using field and laboratory studies, including state of the art facilities at Fera.

CASE partner: The successful candidate will benefit from training by and work in collaboration with Fera Science Ltd.
