About the Project

A fully funded PhD position is available from April 2017 at Division of Infection and Immunity, Cardiff University School of Medicine, under supervision of Dr. Bonnet.

The ground-breaking discovery of molecular regulation of necrosis is opening new perspectives in inflammation biology. I have previously shown that the RIPK3-dependent necroptotic cell death of keratinocytes triggers skin inflammation in vivo. Recently, I unravelled an unexpected role for molecules called alarmins in the regulation of necroptosis in human skin inflammation.

The project aims at delineating the role of alarmins in necroptosis-induced inflammation to develop innovative therapeutic strategies. We will decipher the alarmins-activated molecular pathways, using in vivo models, histology, molecular and cellular biology. Expertise in confocal microscopy, cell death, protein analysis and in vivo models would be strongly appreciated.

Funding Notes

Start date: 1st April 2017 / 1st July 2017. Full-time PhD.
