About the Project

We welcome applications from students interested in conducting research into human-animal relations. Aberdeen has a growing reputation for a wide range of anthropological work in this field and for developing new and innovative approaches to more-than-human anthropology, perceptions of animals and birds, and conflicts surrounding animals. This project will explore human-animal relations in any region of the world and can potentially be interdisciplinary in scope. A full training in research methods and analysis in anthropological approaches to human-animal relations will be provided as part of the project.

Funding Notes

This project is funded by a University of Aberdeen Elphinstone Scholarship. An Elphinstone Scholarship covers the cost of tuition fees, whether Home, EU or Overseas.

Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit.
