About the Project

This project, Difference in Discourse and Action, examines how social differences are organised and constituted in everyday interactions. Some examples include: uses of discriminatory language; processes of inclusion and exclusion; how prejudiced opinions are articulated; etc. This project would involve recording, transcribing, and analysing naturally-occurring interactions and interviews; basic training is provided, and there are opportunities for more advanced training as the project progresses.

Entry requirements
Applicants should have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in social psychology or a related subject. A relevant Master’s degree and/or experience in one or more of the following will be an advantage: social psychology, sociology, linguistics
