Dr G D'Agostino  No more applications being accepted  Funded PhD Project (European/UK Students Only)

About the Project

Applications are invited from UK or EU residents to join a new MRC-funded team of scientists focusing on understanding the basic mechanisms underlying the brain’s integration and processing of ingestive signals.

The overall aim of the studentship project is to define cross brain-circuits communication during ingestive behaviour with particular emphasis on the caudal brainstem. The project will involve the use of genetic engineering techniques, calcium photometry and chemogenetic and optogenetic manipulations of intact neuronal circuits.

For further details about the project, contact Dr Giuseppe D’Agostino ([Email Address Removed]).

Funding Notes

Funding is available to UK/EU students only.

The studentship is available from October 2017 for four years and will be supervised by Dr Giuseppe D’Agostino at the Rowett Institute of Nutrition & Health, University of Aberdeen (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/rowett/research/profiles/giuseppe.dagostino). Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.1 Honours degree. Candidates with backgrounds in molecular biology, imaging, electrophysiology, gastroenterology or behavioural analysis are particularly invited to apply.
