Applications are invited for a full-time PhD research studentship at Glasgow Caledonian University within the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health.

Project Summary
Background
From humble beginnings in 2001, the Homeless World Cup and its partners now span the globe, with more than 70 countries taking part. Following the most recent event in Glasgow a legacy PhD studentship has been established in order to better understand the longer – term impact of the Homeless World Cup on those taking part.

Aims
The precise methodological approach will be determined by the successful PhD candidate, in collaboration with the Homeless World Cup.

We are thus looking for a candidate with expertise in a range of research methods, and experience or training in complex interventions.

The study will be useful to the Homeless World Cup in helping them understand the wider impact of their work, and to a PhD student seeking to develop understanding of complex interventions.

The candidate will be based at the Yunus centre for Social Business and Health, working alongside a team of around 30 academic researchers and PhD students exploring the impact social enterprise and other community based initiatives using interdisciplinary approaches

Mode(s) of Study
The studentship is available as a:
• PhD: 3 years full-time


Eligibility
Applicants will normally hold a UK honours degree 2:1 (or equivalent); or a Masters degree in a subject relevant to the research project. Equivalent professional qualifications and any appropriate research experience may be considered. A minimum English language level of IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no element below 6.0 is required. Some research disciplines may require higher levels.

Specific requirements of the project:
The successful applicant will have a Master’s Degree in a Social Sciences subject.

Funding Notes

The studentship of £19,100 per year is for a period of three years, subject to satisfactory progress. The studentship covers the payment of tuition fees (currently £4,300 for UK/EU students or £13,000 - £15,000 for international students depending on the discipline area) plus an annual stipend of £14,800 for UK/EU students or an annual scholarship of £4,100 - £6,100 for international students, depending on the discipline area.
