About the Project
Applications are welcomed for a project studying novel formulation approaches to overcome the scientific problems associated with small molecule drug delivery.
The project is in the area of understanding and control of the solid-state of medicines to improve oral and ocular bioavailability and manufacture. This will be through the use of co-crystals, amorphous and co-amorphous materials and nano-scale crystallisation techniques. The outcome of these projects will be superior understanding of the interplay between the disease state, the solid-state chemistry of the formulation and its pharmacokinetics.
This project would be suitable for a pharmacy or a chemistry graduate with an interest in drug delivery. In addition to gaining laboratory skills, the successful applicant will also benefit from access to generic skills training courses.
