About the Project

Inter-team communication is a considerable challenge in large-scale geographically distributed software development programmes. Such development programmes often adopt a software product line approach in which products, versions and releases are created over successive project phases. This research will explore information flow models to help improve product quality and development productivity. Information flows can be formal or informal and sometimes revolve around production a development artefacts (such as designs and architectures) produced during the development process. There opportunities to adopt soft/qualitative or hard/experimental and simulation approaches in this work.
Keywords: agile methods, lean, software development, global software development, Inter-team communication, large-scale, enterprise, software engineering, information systems development
EligibilityCandidates should have a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in an area relevant to the subject. In all cases a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification or other evidence of research skills and experience is preferred but not essential.
