About the Project

We are seeking to appoint a highly capable candidate who is keen to examine affective and visceral understandings of societal transformations through tourism and events in places and times of socio-political turmoil. Such explorations are needed to deepen our understandings of society and to inform the development of social policy based on the promotion of inclusive societies that value peace and wellbeing, and accept diversity and difference.

The Graduate Teaching Assistantship offers aspiring academics an opportunity to study for a PhD while lecturing in subjects broadly related to their area of research. This combined role, set within a dynamic research and teaching environment, provides a strong foundation for a range of professional, industrial, research and academic careers.

The GTAs will be located within the International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality (ICRETH). Professor Dorina Buda will be the Director of Studies (she joins us in June, 2017).
