Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD programme located jointly within the School of Education, Liverpool John Moores University, and Birkenhead 6th Form College. . Applications for this project are welcome from suitably qualified candidates.
The aim is twofold. First, to explore the personal and situational factors that affect the emotional wellbeing of young people aged 11-18 years. Second, to further develop and trial an intervention designed by Birkenhead 6th Form College to promote the emotional and wellbeing of young people aged 11-18 years.
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in Psychology or a cognate subject (e.g., Education). In addition having experience of working in educational settings would be beneficial.
The project will employ a range of data collection techniques; therefore the candidate should have confidence/experience in quantitative/qualitative research approaches and strong communication skills (oral and written).

Funding Notes
The Studentship will comprise fees (£3,732 / year), running costs (£1,500 / year) and stipend (£14, 296 / year). The contribution to running costs will be paid via Director of Studies and is to contribute towards expenses associated with the project. PhD stipends are normally tax-free. This will include at least one international conference for the student over the 3-year period. The PhD studentship is only available to support full-time study, for Home and EU students only, and cover 3 years only. Progress will be assessed annually and if not satisfactory the support will be terminated
