Dr Craig Jamieson  Applications accepted all year round  Funded PhD Project (European/UK Students Only)

About the Project

A fully funded, industry-linked PhD Studentship is available in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde under the supervision of Dr Craig Jamieson.

Applicants must have, or expect to obtain a strong First Class MChem (or equivalent) degree as a requirement of the funding. Additionally, the position is well suited to students with significant experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry obtained either through industrial placement or as part of an MChem research project.

The Jamieson group at Strathclyde works in the Chemistry-Biology spectrum focusing on the development of new chemical tools for a raft of biological applications. The studentship is available starting in October 2017, and is funded in collaboration with world-leading companies. The project will have a strong emphasis on the utilisation of synthetic organic chemistry to provide new chemical entities for evaluation in a range of biological processes of industrial relevance.

Please submit your application by e-mail to Dr Craig Jamieson ([Email Address Removed]), which should include:

• Cover letter, detailing your experience and motivation for PhD studies
• CV with two referees details included
• Other pertinent information (e.g., publications, awards and other distinctions)
