About the Project

The widespread uptake of Internet of Things (IoT) is contributing to the big data trends of velocity, variety and volume. The redundancy in sensor networks, and data sources is a common practice in IoT systems where multiple sources need to be queried to ensure reliability. In addition, event monitoring applications require inquiring the status of heterogenous sensor data sources. Such type of applications require support of multi-source querying over big data frameworks.

Research aims & objectives

This PhD will develop such a multi-source querying framework over big data frameworks that can support real-time monitoring use cases.
