About the Project

Aberdeen-Curtin Joint PhD Program –Scholarship for a topic on energy economics/finance

Details
Curtin University and University of Aberdeen jointly offer a PhD scholarship relating to the following research topic in energy economics/finance field.

PhD opportunity available to research Carbon Emissions Trading Mechanisms. Environmental considerations have driven policies and international debates on reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. As these policies have direct implications for energy pricing and the composition of energy supply, they form an important aspect of energy economics. The research will also involve identification of stable long-run relationships, assessment of major policy changes triggering structural breaks, as well as evaluation of forecasting and volatility issues.

These topics will relate to the following keywords:
• CO2 pricing: empirical testing of convergence of CO2 pricing across trading markets
• Market integration and price convergence
• Long-run price relationship/short-run price dynamics
• Structural changes
• Price/volatility forecasting
• Market efficiency
