About the Project

We’re investigating the role of vibration therapy in improving the health of young children with disabilities.

There are three objectives:

1. to investigate the effects of vibration therapy on muscle and bone health in children with cerebral palsy as early as 5 years of age.

2. to explore a feasibility study of using vibration therapy in children under 5 years at high risk of neuromuscular problems/ disability.

3. to investigate the effects of various protocols of vibration therapy on bone and muscle health.


What we are looking for in a successful applicant:

1. exercise physiology or physiotherapy background would be advantageous

2. experience with clinical trials would be advantageous

3. excellent communication and people skills


To apply for a PhD at the Liggins Institute you need a BSc (Hons), MSc degree or equivalent, and a strong academic record with a GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least 7.0.
