About the Project

The process of leaving the EU will have profound consequences for the UK. With Scotland voting to Remain within the EU by a substantial majority, a number of tensions have arisen that will place pressure on Scotland’s relationship with the UK. Scottish electoral politics continues be very distinct, the extra powers devolved in 2016 allowing for even greater policy divergence from the UK, and Brexit will require a re-calibration of the devolved settlement with the adoption of a new intergovernmental framework and changing modes of multilevel governance. This project will examine Scotland in a post-Brexit context.
