About the Project

The project mainly focuses on high performance machine learning and big data algorithms development and their applications to addressing practical problems. State-of-art machine learning and statistical methods will be investigated and compared in terms of their performance. Further, new machine learning methods will be developed to provide better solutions than the currently available methods in terms of speed and performance. Finally, these state-of-art methods will be applied to addressing the challenges in renewable energy industry, e.g. wind turbine health monitoring.

Funding Notes

The candidate is expected with 1st Honours degree in electrical engineering, maths or computer science or related subjects. We are looking for self-motivated students with excellent communication skills, and abilities to carry out world leading research. The successful student can start in January, April, July and September. Funding may be available to UK/EU students.
