About the Project

This Industry PhD scholarship, established by La Trobe University (LTU) in partnership with BrilliantFIT (www.brilliantfit.co), will be awarded to an outstanding PhD applicant with a background in computer science, information technology, information systems, and related fields in engineering.

Are you someone who wants to make a difference to the world around you? Are you passionate about big data, predictive analytics (& machine learning) and being involved in HR Tech? Do you want to be part of a team that leads the development of new career pathways? If you are, this scholarship may be just for you. This Industry PhD scholarship, established by La Trobe University in partnership with BrilliantFIT, will be awarded to a qualified applicant with a background in computer science, information technology, information systems, and related fields in engineering.

The aim of this research project is to undertake analysis of current job classifications and their required technical and enterprise skills as advertised by employers with a view of developing re-classification of the career clusters. This will form the basis for career management information and technological tools that are relevant and aligned with future trends in the world of work, targeted towards young people as well as career changers of all ages. The research project will also identify transferrable skills across sectors and industries.

For the first six months of the project, the PhD candidate will be based at BrilliantFIT in Scoresby, Victoria, Australia. The remaining two and a half years, the PhD candidate will divide their time between BrilliantFIT and La Trobe University (Melbourne campus).

Applicants should have a high level of achievement, including a first class honours degree or equivalent and or project-related experience/skills

Eligibility criteria
Essential
• First class honours or equivalent in computer science, IT, information systems, data science, and/or any related disciplines.
• International applicants: Meet the English language entry requirements at LTU.
• A passion for the HR Tech industry
Desirable
• Experience in the HR Technology industry
• Experience in data analysis and modelling
