Prof A Dove  Applications accepted all year round  Funded PhD Project (European/UK Students Only)

About the Project

A fully funded studentship is available in the group of Prof. Andrew Dove at the University of Birmingham to study for a PhD that is focused on the development of polycarbonate-based biomaterials. The projects are across a range of areas that the group are interested:

• Ring-opening polymerisation of novel functional monomers
• Post-polymerisation functionalisation and light-induced crosslinking
• 3D printing of resins formulated from the materials
• Characterisation of novel degradable materials using a range of thermomechanical methods

Projects will have a balance of synthesis, functionalisation and characterization and will be ideal for students that are interested in a fundamental research project with an applied goal who want to work in recently refurbished lab space with world-class state-of-the-art facilities.

Funding Notes

This studentship is only open to UK or EU nationals. The successful applicants should possess a good (1st or 2.1 UK or equivalent) degree in chemistry from a well-regarded institution.
