Peptide - polymer conjugates for drug delivery

This project is a collaborative project between the University of Warwick and AstraZeneca to explore the use of peptide - polymer conjugates as drug delivery vectors. The project will focus on the synthesis and characterisation of the conjugates, the study of their self-assembly in physiological conditions and their bio-properties in vitro (toxicity, interactions with cells and investigation of the mechanism of cell uptake, etc) and in vivo (biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, etc). The project will range from organic / polymer synthesis to biologic al studies, and requires experience in at least one of these areas. It will be based in Prof Perrier’s laboratories in the Department of Chemistry and the Medical School at Warwick, with interactions with Prof Perrier’s team at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Monash University, Australia).
