Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH)

The Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) is the world's first national graduate school in the arts and humanities.

We are sixteen HEIs across Scotland plus 29 supporters from the arts, culture, creative and heritage sectors. Supported by the Scottish Funding Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), we provide the framework to develop strategic and sustainable partnerships to support world-leading doctoral training in the arts and humanities across Scotland.

We aim to support our doctoral graduates to become well-networked leaders in whichever sector they choose to work, with the ability to use the skills gained through their training to make a real difference in the world. Working together with each other, our partners and our supporters, we can provide our students with access to research expertise across the nation and to our universities’ world-class resources – including museums, special collections and archives. We promote, facilitate and enable collaboration to deliver outstanding and innovative advanced skills development training fit for the challenges of the twenty-first century.
