Research within the Faculty of Science & Technology ranges from archaeology via geography to forensic science. The Faculty has three formal research centres embedded within a broader portfolio of research activity and scholarship. These are the Centre for Archaeology, Anthropology & Heritage, Centre for Conservation Ecology & Environmental Change and Centre for Forensic Science.
We have a vibrant community of over 60 postgraduate research students working across all areas of the School’s academic footprint. Bournemouth is ideally suited for research on the door step of the Dorset coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and within easy reach of environments of global importance for conservation, including the Wessex Downs, the Dorset heaths, Poole Harbour and the New Forest National Park and within a county that has more areas of designated sites of scientific interest than any other.
