Up to 9 funded places available

The Centre for Doctoral Training – Innovation in Medical and Biological Engineering provides postgraduate research and training for students to improve the quality of life of an ageing population.

Driven by clinical challenges, we undertake solution focused pioneering research and education in the fields of medical devices and regenerative medicine, innovating and translating novel therapies into practical clinical applications.

Our expertise is in the area of musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems with our research focusing on three main areas - Joint Replacement, Tissue Re-engineering and Functional Spinal Interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a 4 year funded integrated PhD and MSc – Innovation in Medical and Biological Engineering, further details can be found on our website.

Entry requirements are a degree equivalent to a UK upper second class honors (2:1) or higher in an engineering or physical science discipline.

If you have an informal enquiry please do not hesitate to contact our CDT support team, regenmed@leeds.ac.uk

We welcome scholarship applications from all suitably-qualified candidates, but UK black and minority ethnic (BME) researchers are currently under-represented in our Postgraduate Research community, and we would therefore particularly encourage applications from UK BME candidates. All scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit

The Centre for Doctoral Training in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine 2018/19 Cohort is now full, this was also the last intake of the 5 year EPSRC grant.
