The Faculty of Engineering and Science is delighted to be able to offer a number of PhD scholarships under the Vice Chancellor Scholarship scheme. The scholarships will be based in one of our Engineering departments: the Department of Engineering Science, or the Department of Applied Engineering and Management. We are looking for candidates to apply with a background in any area of engineering, design or technology-related disciplines. Candidates should have, or expect to achieve, a strong undergraduate degree (2:1 or above). Candidates with relevant Masters degrees or those with practical experience in research or industry are also encouraged to apply.

A tax-free bursary of £14,296 per year for 3 years is available to UK students, plus ‘Home’ University tuition fees of £4,121will be paid and some travel expenses to attend appropriate international conferences and seminars will be available. Non-UK candidates are eligible to apply, but will be requested to pay for the difference between the ‘Home’ and ‘Overseas’ fees.
