Profile Description

The University invites applications for full time PhDs, to commence on 1 October 2017. Applicants must have (or be about to complete) a relevant degree (at least a 2:1 Honours or a Masters) and should submit a proposal that demonstrates an aptitude for researching a specific topic that can be supervised within the University. For a list of subjects see our Supervision Areas by Academic School

The strongest full-time PhD candidates (UK/EU or International) who have applied by 1 June 2017 and are subsequently accepted, will be considered for the award of a scholarship of £3,000 per annum, renewed annually, subject to suitable progress, for a maximum of 3 years. Please note that if you are successful in obtaining this scholarship, you will still be responsible for the full payment of your tuition fees. Fee-paying students will benefit from an expense account of up to £900 per financial year for the standard period of study and excellent facilities in the University's multidisciplinary Graduate Centre in the heart of York.

To apply, please visit https://www.yorksj.ac.uk/research/research-degrees/research-degrees-offered/application-links/, and apply via the PhD links, expressing within your application form that you would be interested in a scholarship opportunity by stating such within your research proposal, and discussing this where appropriate during your interview.

Closing date for applications is 1 June 2017.
