Fully funded CHASE: Arts & Humanities Postgraduate Scholarships

The University of Kent is proud to be part of the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England (CHASE).

We are one of only 8 leading institutions offering a fully-funded CHASE AHRC doctoral studentships that includes an extensive programme of training, collaborative placements and development for all doctoral researchers in the arts and humanities.

The University of Kent will offer CHASE funded Studentships in Arts, Humanities and related disciplines.

This award is open to both UK residents and international (this includes EU) candidates.

CHASE Studentship Selection Criteria will be based on the following:

  • Research Proposal
  • Preparedness for Research
  • Suitability of Research Environment

Funding

These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend, £18,622 2023/24 rate (2024/2025 rate to be announced). Tuition fees at the home rate and access to further research funding. If you are applying as an international candidate, Kent will waive the difference between Home and International fees. CHASE studentships also provide access to a wide range of training and placement opportunities.

How to apply

New students wishing to be considered for these scholarships must apply for a PhD place at the University of Kent by Sunday 3rd December 2023. Applicants are advised to discuss their research project with academic members of staff in the relevant schools as soon as possible.

Your Kent application will be considered for a CHASE scholarship. If you are successful, you will be invited to complete a CHASE - specific application.
