12 Fully Funded PhD Studentships: 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training

Funded PhD Opportunities in Digital Design, Digital Media and Digital Arts

The 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training is a partnership between UWE Bristol, Plymouth University and Falmouth University, creating a new generation of practice-led researchers in digital design, digital media and digital art (including music and performance). We are inviting applications for 2 fully-funded National Productivity Investment Fund PhD studentships to begin on 1 October 2018. The studentships are supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s National Productivity Investment Funding stream, which is aimed at training excellent researchers in interdisciplinary methodologies for digital innovation in ways that will enable them to meet creative and design challenges of the future. The studentships cover fees plus an annual maintenance award of £14,777. The award is for three years full-time or five years part-time.

You will be guided and supported by academic staff based in one of the three universities’ research centres and enjoy the benefits of an industrial partner that guarantees training and access to facilities, a variety of internships/placements and in some instances co-supervision. You will be based at one of the partner universities but will benefit from the combined resources of all three universities and a bespoke training programme.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative and cutting-edge cohort of researchers dedicated to reshaping industrial technologies and processes through embedded practice-based research.
