About the Programme

The School of Human and Health Sciences is offering a number of bursaries of £3000 per year, to be received alongside a full fee-waiver, to study towards a PhD (3 years full-time) or a Masters by Research (1 year full-time).

To be considered for these, you will need to hold, or be about to achieve, a first-class honours in your Bachelor's degree or a distinction in your Master's degree. You must be eligible to register either in September 2017 or January 2018.
Bursaries will be allocated through a competitive interview (date to be advised). We are seeking applications that align well with the core research interests of our School and details of these can be found here.

In addition to the bursaries, we are also offering University research scholars, a number of 15%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% fee waivers. These may be awarded to applicants whose proposal addresses one of the School's core research interests.

Applicants should apply online here.

The closing date for applications is 15th December 2017. In the areas of the application form concerning funding, applicants should enter “Fee-waiver and HHS bursary”. Please also email Alison Holmes (a.holmes@hud.ac.uk) to indicate that you wish to be considered for the bursary.

Requests for any further information can, in the first instance, be directed to Dr Helen Gavin (h.gavin@hud.ac.uk) HHS Director of Graduate Education, who may direct your enquiry further.
