CRUK Clinical Research Training Fellow

Full Time

The appointment will be on UCL Grade CL7. The salary range will be CL7 £35,023 - £43,583 per annum, StR scale £35,570 - £51,215 per annum or Junior Doctor scale £39,553 - £49,300per annum., inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL is one of the U.K.’s premier research and teaching Universities and has one of the largest Biomedical Faculties in Europe. UCL is both a Cancer Research UK Centre and an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre providing key infrastructure for cancer research. This position will offer a high quality basic science and translational research experience to a suitably motivated individual who seeks to combine a clinical career in haematology/oncology with scientific research. Duties and responsibilities of the post holder include but are not limited to: design and execute experiments, record and analyse data, and feedback to supervisors, documenting research findings honestly and comprehensively in laboratory note books, play an active role in other research projects undertaken within the laboratory, develop an in-depth understanding of CAR T cell biology and engineering approaches. Depending on the applicant’s situation, the applicant will be appointed on either on CL7, or if the applicant is currently in training, he / she will be appointed at StR or Junior Doctor scales. The post is initially funded for 3 years.

The successful candidate must hold medical degree, be a member of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent. Experience in basic statistical approaches in clinical medicine, ability to organise and prioritise workload, to delegate responsibility as appropriate and to supervise staff, ability to work effectively within a team environment & on own initiative are also among Essential criteria. GMC registration and entry on the appropriate GMC Specialist Register, completed core medical training or equivalent, undergoing or completed higher specialist training in Haematology or oncology are among Desirable criteria.
