Profile Description

The cultural history of translation is a new and vibrant area of research.

This PhD with Dr Hilary Brown, Lecturer in Translation Studies and German at the University of Birmingham, will study the role of translation and translators in shaping European cultural history.

Successful candidates will be researching in our School of Modern Languages in the College of Arts and Law, a vibrant community of students and academics, and one of the most forward-thinking and prestigious centres for Modern Languages in the UK.
