Competitive Influence-seeking by Great Powers in Contested Neighbourhoods

  • Self-Funded PhD Students Only
    Self-Funded PhD Students Only

Profile Description

Applications are invited for applications to work on competitive influence-seeking by great powers in contested neighbourhoods. The principal focus of the project is on the EU's eastern neighbourhood and the relations between the EU (and the ‘West' more broadly) with Russia. However, similar approaches in other regions would also be welcome, e.g., Russia-China relations in Central Asia or China-US relations in the South China Sea.

There is no theoretical or methodological ‘bias', but applicants wishing to work within a neo-classical realist framework and focused on single and comparative case studies are particularly encouraged to apply.

Further information about funding, the application process, including how to prepare a research proposal, can be found here: PLEASE CONSULT THIS PAGE PRIOR TO MAKING FURTHER ENQUIRIES.
