Comparative War-to-Peace Transitions

  • Self-Funded PhD Students Only
    Self-Funded PhD Students Only

Profile Description

Applications are invited for applications to work on war-to-peace transitions. The principal focus of the project is to identify patterns and trajectories of successful and failed peace processes from the decision to negotiate an agreement through to implementation and operation. Peace processes can fail at any point and for any number of reasons. The project seeks to identify the contingencies of success and failure and derive usable policy recommendations on that basis.

There is no theoretical or methodological ‘bias', but applicants wishing to work within a mixed methods approach are particularly encouraged to apply.

Further information about funding, the application process, including how to prepare a research proposal, can be found here: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/government-society/departments/political-science-international-studies/courses/doctoral-research.aspx. PLEASE CONSULT THIS PAGE PRIOR TO MAKING FURTHER ENQUIRIES.
