The School of Law fosters and promotes research in all major fields of legal study. Our national and international research standing represents our excellence. The School is ranked 8th in the UK for law by the Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide. We are also ranked 3rd in the UK for criminology by the Guardian Good University Guide 2018.
We recognise the growing internationalisation of research agendas in legal, socio-legal, and criminal justice studies. We run lively programmes of seminars and colloquia, host visiting scholars and work with key policy makers.
