BBSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) Studentships

BBSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) Studentships

The University of Manchester is one of the largest and most successful centres for biological and biotechnological focused research and training in Europe. Researchers span the Faculties of Biology, Medicine and Health, as well as the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and receive more BBSRC funding than any other university in the UK. The University of Manchester is one of the BBSRC funded Doctoral Training Partnerships recruiting for 2018. We are currently training over 100 PhD students in our BBSRC DTP and will be looking to recruit between 20 and 25 students for September 2018. Projects will be supervised by an inter-disciplinary team of academic staff, and successful students will undertake specific lab rotations to further enhance their research skills, as well as training to complement their project. We will also be offering a number of CASE Studentships, linked to an industrial partner.

The DTP scheme will provide students with excellent cross-disciplinary research training in line with the current BBSRC strategy for research support and training. Students on the programme undertake a 3 month Professional Internship, designed to equip them with additional skills to enhance their overall PhD experience.
