Profile Description

Having won a coveted place in the national network of training centres accredited by the ESRC, the Wales Doctoral Training Centre is awarding a number of ESRC-funded postgraduate research studentships to support doctoral research and training over the next few years.

Each DTC has accredited pathways, onto which 4 year (1+3) or 3 year (+3) studentships are awarded. At Cardiff University the accredited pathways are:

  • Economics
  • Empirical Studies in Law
  • Environmental Planning
  • Human Geography
  • Language Based Area Studies
  • Linguistics: Language and Communication
  • Management and Business Studies
  • Psychology
  • Social Sciences: Criminology; Education; Science and Technology Studies; Social Policy; Social Work and Social Care; and Sociology.
