About the Project

Over 50 million dengue infections per year take place in approximately 100 countries with the more severe forms affecting children under 15 years old. Cellular function often involves small numbers of molecules, of which perhaps the most important example is DNA.

Stochastic models are indispensable because the phenomena are intrinsically multi-agent and random. Fluctuations do not just average away but can instead lead to easily detectable differences between otherwise identical cells.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary research team with the aim to develop an international and interdisciplinary research network of scientists from the UK (University of Leeds), Spain and the US (Arizona State University) with the expertise to tackle challenges at the intra-cellular, individual and population levels.
