About the Project

Our brain integrates multiple signals and previous knowledge to improve the quality of perception. The goal of the project is to study how perception is affected by expectations and modifications in the coherence of sensory signals. The work will combine psychophysics and computational modelling.

Applicants should have good quantitative background (i.e., a master in cognitive science, computer science, neuroscience, engineering or related areas). Knowledge of Matlab programming and experience with psychophysics are desirable.

The successful candidate will work in the laboratory of Dr Massimiliano Di Luca and in the Centre for Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics (CNCR). The student will have access to audiovisual setups, EEG, haptic devices, VR setups and several other research facilities within the CNCR Centre and the School of Psychology.
