About the Project

Behavioural and sensory ecology, particularly of birds but also other taxa, including humans. Specific research interests include: colour vision in non-human animals, particularly how predator perception influences camouflage and visual signalling; sexual selection and mate choice.


Funding Notes

PhD: Fully funded University of Bristol scholarships, or UK Research Council doctoral grants, may be be available for outstanding UK/EU and non-EU students. Deadline: usually early January. You will have to be, or have been, in the top 5% of your cohort, from a top-rank institution, to be competitive. PhD or Master by Research: Self-funding students, or those with independent scholarships/grants, are welcome to apply at any time of the year.
