About the Project

This project focuses on the impact of eco-innovation on firms’ performance first by taking a broad EU perspective before progressing to a highly disaggregated approach at the individual country level. The ability of firms to innovate, improve competitiveness and expand internationally will be key to Europe’s future economic and environmental success and is central to this proposal. The research would involve quantitative analysis of panel data or other large data sets.

The project aims to:

-Investigate the impact of eco-innovation and environmental regulations on firm level productivity, survival, and internationalisation

-Explore the interaction between environmental investment and firm level performance measures allowing this interaction to depend on firm heterogeneity in terms of productivity and size

-Investigate the link between environmental regulations, environmental investment and firms’ energy mix

Very Important: Applicants need a masters-level qualification in Economics and need experience on working with large data sets, using econometric techniques and they need to be able to use econometric software such as Stata.
