Project Description

As applications become more and more data-intensive (large volumes of data, cf big data) and as there is a demand for more and more energy-friendly parallel/distributed systems, one key problem that needs to be addressed is the optimization of data transfers (for example in terms of energy consumed). The goal of this project will be to devise application/data mapping schemes that take optimize data transfers particularly with respect to energy consumption.
