About the Project

Adult attachment theory posits that our history of received emotional care throughout life defines our affect regulation strategies in adulthood (Mikulincer & Shaver, 2007). Several studies have found that attachment orientation predicts coping with various health conditions. Social-cognitive attachment researchers have found that priming attachment security has many positive effects, on both cognitive and affective outcomes. This PhD would examine the potential utility of attachment security priming in the context of health conditions.
