Dr M Blades  No more applications being accepted  Competition Funded PhD Project (European/UK Students Only)

About the Project

Advertising, especially advertising unhealthy foods to young children, is a matter of controversy. Nearly all the previous research into the effects of advertising on children has focused on traditional television advertising. We want to investigate children’s understanding of advertisements in new media (like the Internet) and new forms of advertising (like product placement in TV programmes), and the effects that advertising might have on children’s life styles. This research can be carried out in any country.
