About This PhD Project

Project Description

A number of future particle physics projects require multi-MW proton beams interacting with a target. These include Neutrino Factories, Muon Colliders and high intensity neutron sources. There is an opening for a student to join the Sheffield team simulating shock in high power targets, modelling particle production and trapping and studying induced radiation effects from interactions of a high power beam with target, support structure and dump.
