In collaboration with EPSRC, JEOL and DENSsolutions, We are setting up the Centre for Liquid Phase Electron Microscopy Imaging. This will be equipped with state-of-the-art electron microscopy facilities to image liquid samples with sub-nanometer spatial resolution and with temporal resolution of milliseconds.
We are looking for two enthusiastic students for the following project:
Live cells Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy
We are looking for a Life sciences, Biophysics, Biochemistry or Bioengineering graduate to work on the development of novel 3D imaging modality of live cells using scanning transmission electron microscopy. The project will involve the preparation of novel probes as well as handling and culturing live cells. Experience with imaging analysis and any microscopy is desirable as well as any previous experience in advanced cell culture and cell biology.
The student will be joining the group of Prof Battaglia (www.battagliaresearchgroup.com) at UCL. This is a very interdisciplinary research group comprising several scientists and engineers from different backgrounds. The students will be joining the Department of Chemistry PhD training programme.
To apply please send your CV, two letters of recommendations, your degree transcript with grades (or expected grades), and 1 page research statement to Prof Giuseppe Battaglia, [email protected]
