About the Project

In an increasingly competitive world, it appears that working more does little to fill the productivity gap in UK industry. Recent research has shown that taking time away from that task-in-hand, as opposed to spending more time on the job, can positively affect performance. In this
PhD project, the influence of off-task breaks on individual and group performance will be studied. The research aims to understand and identify ways in which employees can break up the working day with a view towards enhancing creativity and innovation.
