About This PhD Project

Project Description

Dementia describes a set of symptoms that can include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language. Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia and is a terminal neurodegenerative disease. Diagnoses of AD are expected to increase over the next few decades, making it one of the largest global health and social crisis. This project will study how data-driven predictive and descriptive models can be used to help to study some brain dysfunctions. Complex and large data sets generated by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) will be used to identify atypical brain states, to investigate their heterogeneity within a given class of neurological disorders and similarities between different ones.
